The R9 and R12 receivers uses a 3.6 V lithium battery which lasts up to two years.
Using a battery other than the Dogwatch recommended battery can cause permanent damage to the receiver. Contact your dealer for details to replace the battery.

- Unscrew the battery cap using the collar wrench provided or coin and remove the used battery before inserting a new battery.
- Take your test light and hold the magnet in the programming position for 15 seconds. This will reset the battery indicator light for your new battery.
- If you have misplaced the test light let the receivers sit for five minutes without a battery. Insert a new battery positive end down avoid touching the contact posts of the receiver or the ends of the battery. A clean connection between battery and receiver will give you the best performance. Screw in the battery cap using the collar wrench provided.
- The status light will blink once.
- The battery indicator light is now reset.
