Features of PT4 transmitter

The power light tells you that your transmitter is on. When adjusting the receiver make sure the power to the transmitter is off. When the switch is on the power light will glow red and a loop monitor display or LMD will glow green. This means that the boundary loop is operating properly. If a wire break occurs the green loop monitor display will go off and an audible warning will sound. This indicates your system has a wire break and the system is not operating. Turn the power switch off and contact your DogWatch dealer. The boundary wire is connected by the loop plug on the bottom of the transmitter. Make sure the loop plug is securely connected. The rate switch is located on the upper left side of the transmitter. The rate switch controls the number of corrections administered through the receiver per second. When set to rate one the receiver operates with a slow series of correction pulses. When set to rate three the receiver operates with a fast series of correction pulses. Your DogWatch dealer has set the pulse rate on the transmitter along with the correction level on the receiver that is appropriate for containing your dog. It is important not to change the pulse rate unless your dealer recommends. VERY IMPORTANT: Do never adjust the rate switch when the receiver is on the neck of your dog.
The training mode is on the upper right side of the transmitter. The switch allows your dealer to choose between two pet friendly training options:
  • Basic mode A
  • Quick alert mode B
In mode A your pet will receive an audible warning followed by a correction. For harder to train dogs the mode will be set to B and your pet will receive a very quick alert correction followed by the normal audible warning and correction. The mode has been set by your dealer and it's recommended to leave this switch in the position your dealer sets unless he instructs you otherwise. The range control adjusts the signal field on both sides of your boundary wire. If the range is set to 4 you will have an 8-foot (243.84 cm) signal field for feet on either side of the boundary wire. If the boundary wire is broken or the signal is interrupted the loop indicator light will go out and an audible break alarm will sound. if the loop light is out you can check your boundary for a visible broken wire. If there is an obvious break you can easily splice the wire back together. Otherwise consult your dealer.
